As we warm up for December, we would like to look back at CIDOC 2024 and express our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped to make this conference possible. The new Rijksmuseum website Collection Online was launched yesterday, which is a big milestone for us. Rijksmuseum’s Chris Dijkshoorn and Peter Gorgels, together with Q42’s Erwin Verbruggen first showcased the new website at CIDOC 2024. It’s amazing to see how all these years of hard work have led to this moment. We are happy to have been able to share it with everyone at the conference.

This year’s conference brought together museum professionals worldwide to explore a variety of topics related to this year’s theme “Sustainable Connections: Building Knowledge Networks.” We spent a year crafting this comprehensive program, and we’re inspired by the innovative projects and thoughtful discussions shared throughout the week. From the HackALOD workshops to the conference dinner, Rijks Runners and yoga sessions, and behind-the-scenes excursions to organizations in Amsterdam– every moment fostered new experiences and valuable connections. We are amazed at the variety of countries represented at the conference. Did you know that 35 countries from 4 different continents were present? A total of 289 people attended the conference, both offline and online. 235 people came all the way to the Rijksmuseum to attend the conference in person. It was great to meet all of you and we hope you enjoyed the meetings as much as we did.
